The Bolo

I'll get right to it. Bolo Ties are making a come back. This is a very early prediction and won't truly manifest until Coachella 2015. We're all familiar with the "Native Look" trend that started in 2011 and had everyone gravitating towards beautiful geometric patterns in vibrant colors inspired by the Navajo and the likes. I predict Bolo Ties will be that next big "Urban Outfitters" led accessory.

The problem with Bolos today is that there's simply no go-to place to purchase them. If you google Bolo Ties, you won't find any online bolo stores. Sure Ebay and Amazon have a couple options here and there, but they're either cheap Chinese made bolos or they're really expensive authentic Native American Bolos. There's no one store dedicating themselves to the Bolo, and there's nothing you would see at Urban Outfitters.  Etsy actually has some Bolo visionaries that are hand-making some chic bolos of there own, but these are all limited in supply.  See Etsy Bolo pics below

Now those are some super sweet Bolos!  Where can I get one?

Just in the past couple weeks, Bolos actually went viral because Phillip Rivers (San Diego Chargers Quarterback) was wearing a new Bolo before and after every game as fans watched the Chargers go on a winning streak.  San Diego even went as far as to announce #BoloTieFriday encouraging everyone to wear a Bolo Tie to work that day.  Unfortunately, no one seemed to be able to purchase one.  That's because most Bolos you see today have been passed down.

Next year I predict Bolos will be in style, especially among females, making it one of the hottest accessories we've seen in a while.  I hope the fad will last because when it comes to Bolos, the possibilities are endless.  So many different materials can be used from leather strings to gold chains.  And the center piece which is called the "slider" can come in an eclectic variety of shapes and sizes, displaying virtually anything you can dream up.  They can be hipster, but they can also be formal.  Mark my words, you will see formal Bolos being worn at formal events in 2015.  I mean, everyone hates regular ties right?  Fashion is a cycle, and Bolos are coming back!  Don't believe me?  Here are some pics of celebrities and public figures wearing Bolos.  Till next year my friends!

Can a SALAD be Fashionable?

That is the question.  Trends make the world go round, and why can't that apply to salads.  Whether simple yet sophisticated, or spicy and vibrant, salads have become yet another thing to dress up in our lives.  Dress it how you want it, dress it how you feel, dress how you want to feel...if salads are a part of your lives, then salads ARE fashionable.  What's the latest salad craze...I would say something along the lines of dark green leafy vegetables paired with nuts and fruits like walnuts and grapes or pecans and mangoes.    A nice vinagrette holding it all together.  And let us not forget, the perfect accessories, some feta cheese and avocado right on top.  What makes YOUR salad fashionable?

Hierarchy of Jeans

Recently I purchased 2 new pairs of jeans.  It is funny because you always have your going out pairs and your day time pairs.  I could never wear my daytime jeans to go out, but I COULD wear my going out pair in the day, depending on how chic I'm feeling that day.  It is crazy how mental the whole thing is; my current 2 daytime pairs of jeans were my go-to nighttime pair just days before I bought my new jeans.  Now I could never wear those jeans at night.  They've been demoted instantaneously.  The truth is, my 2 new pairs are soo much nicer, but does this always happen?  Do the jeans just keep getting better and better?  I could never picture my current nighttime pair turning into daytime jeans, but it almost seems inevitable.  The question ultimately is: are the new jeans really that much nicer or do I just feel that much nicer?  If this nicer and nicer trend keeps up, I can't even begin to imagine what daytime jeans I'll be sporting in a few years.
